| This lovely little flute is a fully playable late 19th century to early 20th century, cocus wood, simple system instrument that has been newly repaded and recorked. The keys as well as all the tenon rings and crown are German silver. All the springs are tensioned for ease of play and it plays easily down to low C with the middle and upper register clear and sweet. The tuning barrel works smoothly and when extended 8 -10mm A=440. There were several cracks. One in the headjoint and two in the tuning barrel. Both have been repaired professionally. The inner brass tubes were removed from both the headjoint and the tuning barrel and the cracks were sealed from the inside to insure no leaks; the brass tubes were reset and both headjoint and tuning barrel were tested for leaks...none found. |
