| Dana Lyn, born in Los Angeles in 1974 to Taiwanese parents, performs regularly as a member of folklorist/musician Mick Moloney’s Green Fields of America troupe and with vocalist Susan McKeown. Dana features on the 2004 CD “Live at Mona's: Traditional Irish Music in New York City”. Her bowing, precise fingering and imaginative ornamentation all point to a wonderful traditional player. She displays a fluidity, imagination, and bowing mastery that would make even an accomplished Irish-born player sit up and take notice.
Tina Lech was born in Providence, R.I. and learned the fiddle from Jimmy Devine, whose style reflects some of the great traditional playing which flourished in his native New York during the 1970's. Tina has performed at festivals in Ireland and America, most recently with Dana and Donna during the Catskills Irish Arts Week. She has developed a unique style of her own. She currently lives in the Boston area and is an integral part of Boston's vibrant traditional Irish music scene through both playing and teaching. Donna Long, pianist, fiddler and member of Baltimore’s Hedge Band, will accompany Dana and Tina at the keyboard. Donna is considered one of the finest pianists playing Irish music. A former member of the internationally acclaimed Irish ensemble Cherish the Ladies, she has recorded five CDs with them. Donna has also recorded a solo CD, “Handprints”, a collection of Irish music arranged for the piano. Donna teaches Irish piano and fiddle in the Baltimore/DC area. |
