RAFFLE
to benefit CTIMS
Strap donated by Frayed Knot Arts
As webmaster for CTIMS, I'd like to thank each and every one of you for looking at this page, coming out to attend the CTIMS performances and generally helping to support Irish Traditional Music in the Delaware Valley.  Thanks to all of you who took a chance on the raffle.  Someone had to win and

TOM GITTLEMAN
                                             of the band Ceol Mor
                                              won the raffle strap!
Note that the strap is not completed!  It will be finished off to suit the winner's preference: some play guitar with a chest button, some like a strap to the headstock and then there's the odd mandolin or (shudder) banjo player who needs an entirely different setup.  The artist will complete the strap according to whatever is most pleasing to the new owner and where the strap will terminate.
The strap is 28 lines wide and consists of four "ten-diamond capped square" details and three openwork details with squareknot "fields".   It is made of #18 fine white polished cotton codtwine and is an unique design.  Once finished it will be between 45" and 55" overall.

An autoharp strap similar to this was sold for $300.00
but this one is longer and will have a necessarily more complicated finish, so the value on this is $375.00.

Note the "ten-diamond" detail in the strap:  each of these is comprised of one large outer diamond surrounding nine interior diamonds.  A notable feature is the way each diagonal row "caps" the perpendicular row(s).

Each diamond takes about 1-1/2 to 2 hours to do.
To the best of our knowledge this detail is completely unique to
Frayed Knot Arts.
