| Dia duit! I am compiling this discography for reasons of personal musical interest, and because I have been a collector of ethnic music on old 78RPM discs and vinyl LPs for many years. I hope that it will be of interest to other collectors and/or aficionados of Irish traditional - or not so traditional - music. I have very little information about the Avoca label, even after consulting with noted Irish music collector and discographer Philippe Varlet. If anyone has any historical information about the AVOCA label or its founders, please contact me at the address given below. I have added a number of items to this lately, thanks to the assistance of some Irtrad-L mailing list members and others. The gems on this label are certainly the two Sean Ryan items, with the Jackie Roche LPs, the Timmy Cronin accordion record, the Sean Maguire, and a number of Ceili Band entries being of additional traditional music interest. The highest number release I am aware of is 33-AV 176; higher numbers appear to have not been issued at all, hence their removal from the list. Help me to fill in some of the missing information! Contact me here (dalton@vet.upenn.edu) Still missing is specific information for the following Avoca releases: 33- AV 172 ----------174 - 175 more??? Slán agus beannacht leat!
