UPCOMING CONCERTS
Danny Bakan is an award-winning visionary songwriter and a darn fine banjo player. A Canadian performer with roots deep in the American folk tradition, Danny weaves old time music into compelling original songs to create a truly fresh and unique sound. The melodic rhythm of the Appalachian Mountains anchors the music with infectious grooves...paying homage to and transcending genre. With contagious enthusiasm, Danny’s masterful clawhammer banjo and guitar playing supports his poignant, thoughtful, and often humourous songs. Some call it:   AmeriCanadiana.  You'll call it fascinating.

Danny breathes new life into the art of playing clawhammer style banjo. He seamlessly marries traditional "frailing" techniques with rock/pop aesthetics. He pays homage to and transcends genre.

Danny's years of stage experience pay off big in his live performances. He is an award winning actor with a powerful presence on the stage. Audiences are thrilled as he effortlessly moves from renditions of Old Tyme classics, to Gospel hoot and holler, to some of the finest examples of contemporary songwriting they have heard in a long time.
