| SOMETHING NEW! Hey, this is so new a concept we don't even HAVE a name for it as yet... Got a good idea??? |
| If you're old enough, you'll no doubt remember the "Young Musicians" programmes put on by the Philadelphia Orchestra under Eugene ("Honkle Hugene") Ormandy and in New York by Leonard (Call me 'Mr. Bernstein') Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic. They got a lot of kids involved in classical music appreciation: so, why not for contemporary music, and why not here? Let's do it! ("Gee Judy, I know.... we'll put on a SHOW!") Starting Sunday, Jan. 27th, we will be presenting a monthly series aimed primarily (but NOT exclusively) at the younger musician and those who may want to be musicians. These programs will feature acoustic music in just about any genre... folk, jazz, vocal arts, afro-centric, rhythm.... got an idea for one? CONTACT US! The idea is to educate through entertainment and the artists and presenters will be doing this as a "labour-of'love" (sounds like the classical definition of "The Music Business") and so the donation will be $5.00, but NO-ONE will be turned away if they can't pay... just talk to either of us at the door. Shows will begin at 2PM and be approximately 90 minutes or so. |
