The Triumph Of Oriana
The Triumph Of Oriana is a collection of some 23 Madrigals,  commissioned and collected by Thomas Morley
in celebration of Elizabeth Tudor's successful reign (and her conquering of her last real enemy,  the Earl of
Essex). Published in 1601, I am unclear in the concept as to whether or not she actually got to hear this whole
body of work performed before her death.  It does not matter.  This is surely one of the milestones of the
English Madrigal school and I am on the constant look-out to acquire copies of those madrigals which are
missing.
